EUCE researchers in the spotlight

Several EUCE Associate Researchers have recently been awarded fellowships to continue their ongoing research projects during the next academic year. Congratulations to them!

Roberto Angrisani, PhD student at Université Laval (Québec) has been awarded the prestigious Vanier scholarship 2015, for a duration of three years. This scholarhsip will allow him to continue his doctoral research, which focuses on the EU Court of Justice's actions in the field of fundamental rights protection and criminal law.

Olivier Schmitt, post-doctoral researcher at EUCE and CÉRIUM, obtained the Eisenhower Fellowship, thanks to which he will spend the Fall 2015 as a Visiting Fellow at the NATO Defence College in Rome, working on the topics of status-seeking in weapons procurement, strategic studies and transatlantic relations

Chantal Lavallée, EUCE associate researcher, will join the the Institute for strategic studies at the French military school in Paris (IRSEM), after having received a postdoctoral grant from the French Ministry of Defence. She will continue working on the EU comprehensive approach to security, especially in the Mediterranean

Finally, Paul May, researcher at Queen's University (Kingston), and Antoine Rayroux, EUCE associate researcher, have both received a postdoctoral scholarship from the Fonds de recherche du Québec - société et culture (FRQSC), for the next two years. Paul May will research immigration policies in Europe and North America at Queen's University, while Antoine Rayroux will be a researcher at Carleton University (Ottawa), working on the EU's diplomatic reputation.
