2012 International Summer School - Europe in crise(s)

Six days of high-level training on the last 18-months-long crise(s) in Europe.

This summer school will discuss and put into perspective the unrest in Europe over the past 18 months in order to analyze its medium- and long-term political and economic consequences. With some observers portraying Europe as being in decline, the crisis of the world’s largest economic zone is calling into question Europe’s influence in the world. What does the future hold for European institutions? To what extent will domestic interests prevail over common European interests? Is there still economic and political leadership in Europe? This summer school aims to examine these questions from political, historical and economic perspectives.
The intensive seminars, taking place over six days and led by international experts, are open to graduate students, undergraduates (under some conditions), citizens interested in international affairs, NGO representatives, civil servants, diplomats, journalists and business professionals.
The course is offered by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and may be taken for credit by graduate students. In many cases, additional seminars may be taken by credited students. These are usually offered immediately prior to and after the conference week. Undergraduate students may also register under specific conditions. Please read the
.
Distinct but simultaneous versions of the summer school seminars are offered in French.
